Born on December 24, 1988, in Florence, Italy, Francesca is the daughter of Cesare, an audio technician and producer, and Cecilia Giorgio, a concert pianist. She has a three years older brother named Andrea.

Francesca grew up in a loving and musical household, learning how to play the piano by age 5, but was never pushed as a prodigy by her parents, who were fully aware of the stress they would put their child through. And since Francesca didn’t show much more interest in music outside of having some fun, they supported her in any of her other interests.

Instead, she would do well in school and develop a growing interest in fashion, learning how to draw well, to sketch and draw outfits that came to her head. She also taught herself how to sew and turn her ideas into real clothes, becoming a clothes horse with her own designs.

During her teens, she never developed any sexual interest, be it towards males or females, though she felt an aesthetic draw towards beautiful bodies. She would only later realise that she was asexual.

Through contacts of her father, she managed to get a place at the Istituto Marangoni in Milano, one of the premier schools for fashion in the world, in 2006, to become a professional fashion designer. During her time at the Istituto, she experimented with many fabrics and eventually stumbled across latex, a material that fascinated her. Learning how to work with the material made her delve into the latex fetish scene.

She rapidly became proficient with the material and designing around its properties, and began to solely design clothing with latex, which was seen as strange by her teachers and fellow students, but they had to admit that her designs were good. Eventually, during her last year at the Instituto, she would begin to transition to wearing only latex clothes she designed herself, stating that she had found her niche in fashion.

After graduating from the Instituto Marangoni, she returned to Florence and opened her own small studio, ‘Francesca Latex’, where she began to design and sell latex outfits. While she would stock on the ‘standards’ of latex fashion, the main draw of her studio would be haut couture, and everyday fashion made from latex is described as ‘most comfortable’ by most customers. Francesca ensures this by designing for comfort and good locks, stating that she would make clothing that she would wear every day.

Francesca Latex is well known in latex fetish circles outside of Italy, and while she does not create collections, as other design studios would, she does regular fashion shows.

While passionate about her own slice of the fashion world, she has retained an interest in music from her parents, developing an interest in electronic music, mostly thanks to a chance discovery of the Radiohead album ‘Kid A’ in 2000 at age 11, which also made her a life long Radiohead fan. She owns a collection of electronic music instruments and synthesizers, including a 1944 Ondes Martenot, which she likes to play regularly as part of a small hobby orchestra.

Luna is what can be best described as Francesca’s alter ego.
